§ 15-3. Health clinic.

  • (a)

    Until otherwise provided, the city health officer, in addition to performing the duties required of him under the provisions of Vernon's Ann. Civ. St. Art. 4430, and such other duties as shall be lawfully required of him, shall maintain and conduct a public clinic where the indigent sick of this city may receive medical attention without charge. The city health officer shall provide all medicines necessarily required in treating such persons as shall be entitled thereto, and shall provide a registered pharmacist to aid and assist in compounding all prescriptions, and shall provide such other help as may be necessary, all at his own expense. Such clinic shall be maintained and conducted in the quarters provided and used as the city clinic, until otherwise ordered by the city council.

    (b)

    The city health officer shall be paid a salary in an amount to be fixed by the council from time to time.
