§ 21-272. Camping permitted.

  • (a)

    When permitted. Camping may be permitted in the city only under the following circumstances:

    (1)

    Camping in public areas specifically set aside and clearly marked for public camping purposes;

    (2)

    Camping events sponsored and conducted by and under the direction and control of the city parks and leisure services department;

    (3)

    Camping events authorized by the city council; or

    (4)

    Camping on private property if the owner or occupant of the property consents to such camping.

    (b)

    Restriction on permitted camping. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this section, camping shall not be permitted under this section if:

    (1)

    The camping is conducted in such a manner as to constitute a nuisance because of noise, inadequate sanitation, or other matters offensive to persons of ordinary sensibility;

    (2)

    The camping activities are prohibited by the Laredo Land Development Code; or

    (3)

    The camping is of such frequency, intensity or duration as to constitute a use of land prohibited by any provision of the Laredo Land Development Code;
