§ 25-37. Customer service inspections.

  • (a)

    Inspections required. The city shall require all master plumbers obtaining plumbing permits for the construction of new homes or remodeling of existing homes to provide a customer service inspection of said facility. This customer service inspection shall consist of an actual onsite inspection of new construction, material improvements, corrections or additions to plumbing, or existing service deemed in need of a customer service inspection by the city. The inspector will review the fixtures and its solder used for compliance with plumbing fixture installation, and provide for a signed report stating a qualified official inspected the location and noted either all is in order or if installations and modifications are needed.

    (b)

    Registration. The city shall require all master plumbers and customer service inspectors to register with the city building department. All registered inspectors will be given a registration number to be used on all inspection forms. Registration shall be renewed with proper state and local qualifications established under TNRCC and the local cross-connection control policy. Any inspection conducted by an individual not currently registered under this section shall be considered an invalid inspection.

    (c)

    Inspection form. The city shall require all inspections to be conducted on an approved inspection form established under the cross-connection control policy. The usage of any other inspection form is prohibited and enforceable by the building director or his/her representative through the municipal court system.

    (d)

    Enforcement. The building director shall administer and ensure that all completed inspections, whether passed or fail, are kept on file in compliance with state requirements.
