§ 26-1. Record of arrests, duty of desk sergeant to see that complaints are filed; statement of cases in which complaint not filed.

  • It shall be the duty of the desk sergeant to keep a record of all arrests made, such record to be designated the "police department blotter." This record shall show the date of arrest, the name of the person arrested, the offense charged, the name of the officer making the arrest and the court in which the complaint is filed. It shall be the duty of the desk sergeant to see that complaints are filed promptly in each and every case where arrest has been made.
