§ 26-22. Chief.

The police chief shall have management of the department as authorized under civil service law, V.T.C.A., Local Government Code chapter 143. The police chief shall report directly to the city manager or deputy city manager. The chief shall exercise all the functions assigned to the department and shall carry out all the provisions of law and ordinances with respect to such functions.
