§ 2-25. Mandatory retirement age for firefighters and police officers.

(a)

Firefighters and police officers shall be mandatorily retired from employment with the city on the first day of the month following the month in which they reach age seventy (70).

(b)

The provisions of subsection (a) will be in effect until December 31, 1993, at which time this section becomes inapplicable, unless prior to December 12, 1993, 29 USC 623 be amended to permit the provision of (a) to remain in effect.
