§ 2-85. Health and life insurance.
(a)
Retirees will be eligible to continue to participate in the city's group health insurance program, including any dependent(s) of such retiree insured as of the date of the retirement of the person to whom he is a dependent, but this insurance will be solely at such retiree's own expense and such participation shall continue only until the retiree or his dependent becomes eligible for Medicare.
(b)
Life insurance will only be provided to retirees of the city through the TMRS, which life insurance is currently in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00).
(c)
Retirees under the firemen's relief and retirement fund will receive two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) of life insurance at city expense through the city's retirement fund and health insurance for such retirees under the fireman's relief and retirement fund will be as provided in the collective bargaining agreement between the firefighters and the city.
