§ 32-80.3. Fares—Luggage.

  • The rates set out in section 32-69.1 shall be the sole charge made for ordinary luggage, bags or parcels carried by such passengers. It shall be unlawful for any driver of a taxicab to demand or receive a fee or charge for taxicab service in excess of or less than the rate specified in section 32-69.1. However, nothing contained in this section shall be construed as requiring a taxicab driver to carry trunks or other very large objects likely to create a safety hazard for the passenger or driver of the taxicab. The rates charged for handling packages, freight, etc., shall be as negotiated between the parties involved.
