§ 8-24. Same—Register of deaths.

  • (a)

    The cemetery supervisor shall keep a register of deaths subject to inspection at all times, in a well-bound book in index form, which shall show date of burial, name of the deceased, nativity, age, cause of death, place of burial, number of lot and number of grave.

    (b)

    The cemetery supervisor shall enter in his register all burials in the cemetery whether in private lots, potters field or otherwise; and for the purpose of making such entries, he shall require from the undertaker, relatives or friends of the deceased a certificate from the attending or other physician of the facts necessary to entitle the body to burial or shall have an inquest held on the same.

    (c)

    Failure on the part of the cemetery supervisor to make the entries required by this section shall be sufficient cause for removal from his office.
