§ 26-57.7. Weapons.

  • No person appointed to the police reserve force may carry a weapon or otherwise act as a peace officer until he has been appointed by the police chief. After such appointment, he may carry a weapon only when authorized by the police chief and when discharging official duties as a duly constituted peace officer. Appointment by the police chief shall be deemed approval by the governing body of the city within the meaning of Vernon's Ann. Civ. St. art. 998a(c), and section 4.01(B), of the Charter.
