§ 32-76. Electric identification sign on taxicabs.

  • (a)

    Effective January 1, 1985, on top of every taxicab there shall be an electric light sign with the company name or identification sign thereon, which sign light shall be so connected that when the taximeter is in "vacant" or nonearning position, the sign will automatically be illuminated. When the taximeter is in "occupied" or earning position, the sign will not be illuminated.

    (b)

    Effective after sixty (60) days from the effective date of this subsection, on top of every taxicab there shall be a set of tall taillights or "bubbles" (along with the electric light sign), which lights shall be so connected that when the taximeter is in an occupied or earning position, the bubbles will be illuminated.
