§ 5.5-19. Notification of fire dispatcher.

When any ambulance operator, or his agent or employee, receives a request for emergency ambulance service from any person other than the fire dispatcher, he shall immediately notify the fire dispatcher and request clearance to proceed to the scene of the reported emergency; the dispatcher shall promptly grant the requested clearance unless the dispatcher has already sent an ambulance to the scene of the reported emergency, in which case the ambulance operator receiving the direct call shall not proceed to the scene of the emergency.
