§ 6-30. Health emergencies.

  • Upon a finding by the director of the city animal care services department that a health emergency exists due to the imminent threat of rabies or other animal or zoonotic communicable disease, he shall have the authority to order that all unrestrained animals be impounded and euthanized immediately; except that, no emergency order shall continue for a period longer than seven (7) days without the consent of the city council.
