§ 8-1. Cemetery established; area encompassed.

  • (a)

    The following described tract of land, situated within the corporate limits of the city, is hereby set apart and dedicated for cemetery purposes as hereinafter provided:

    All that certain tract or parcel of land lying, being and situated in the eastern division of the city, and bounded as follows:

    On the north by Saunders Street; on the south by Lacoste Street; and on the east by Buena Vista Street or Avenue; on the west by Stone Street or Avenue; as shown by the plat or map of the city.

    Such tract embraces within its metes and bounds, as above set forth, the following numbered blocks of land as designated on said map or plat of the city:

    745, 746, 747, 748, 749, 750, 765, 766, 767, 768, 769, 770, 841, 842, 843, 844, 845, 846, 866, 867, 868, 869, 870, 871, 945, 946, 947, 948, 949, 950, 965, 966, 967, 968, 969, and 970.

    (b)

    All that part, or portion of the tract of land embraced within the metes and bounds as set forth in paragraph (a) of this section, and lying east of Meadow Street or Avenue, as now designated on the plat or map of the city, is hereby set aside and dedicated to the use of the city for use as a cemetery only, and the same shall be and is hereby designated and named "the city cemetery."
